our mission

The Multnomah Athletic Foundation is an Oregon nonprofit corporation founded in 1989 and exempt under the Internal Revenue Code as a public 501(c)(3) organization.

 

Its mission is grounded in the support of amateur athletics, which is an activity that tends to promote discipline, leadership, skill development and self-esteem. As such, support in furtherance of this mission has developed primarily for application in the greater metropolitan area, for the following:

 

• Funding support for new or existing athletic programs and events with an emphasis on programs supporting youth at risk and/or in need of financial aid;

• Encouragement and development of individuals, with an emphasis on support for those who need financial aid in order to participate; and 

•  Providing educational support for youth through scholarship aid based on need and/or merit.
