An Introduction to the Multnomah Athletic Club

The MAC is a private not-for-profit athletic and social club located in downtown Portland, Oregon at 18th Street and SW Salmon Street.

Formed in 1891 by 26 football players, the Multnomah Athletic Club means as much to families as it does to athletes. A complete club, with first-rate facilities, superb cuisine, fun social activities, MAC is a second home to many members.

Our Mission
The Multnomah Athletic Club's mission is to enrich lives, foster friendships and build upon our traditions of excellence in athletic, social and educational programs.

The eight-level main Clubhouse overlooks the 30,000-seat PGE Park (formerly Civic Stadium) and is within walking distance of downtown Portland. Covered parking for more than 600 autos is provided across the street in the club's garage.

Activities are offered for all club members: young and adult; girls and boys; and women and men. Short-term child care is available while parents use the club. Top-rated instruction and coaching is available in twenty-four sports.

The Clubhouse is also host to a variety of local, regional, and national sporting competitions throughout the year, and has been a venue for international ("World") championships on more than one occasion. See the Public Events and Competition Section for more information on events hosted at MAC.
